This year we will be collecting at all of our London branches and are aiming to beat last year’s record of 2,000 coats by 50%Giles Milner - Marketing Director
Chestertons is using its network of 33 London offices to collect coats for needy Londoners this November as it supports the ‘Calling London Winter Coat Drive’ for the second year.
Now in its fifth year, the Calling London Winter Coat Drive collects warm coats and jackets to distribute to London’s most needy people, such as the homeless, the elderly, refugees and children. Last year, a record [2,000] coats were collected and distributed via various shelters, charities, schools and food banks, and nearly a quarter of these were collected by Chestertons’ offices.
This year, Chestertons will launch a campaign to encourage Londoners to donate their unwanted winter coats – men’s, women’s and children’s of all sizes – by dropping them into their nearest Chestertons branch throughout the month of November. It will also be reaching out to schools and businesses with the aim of collecting 3,000 coats this year.
Giles Milner, Marketing Director of Chestertons, says: “We are always looking at ways of helping the communities in which we operate, and with more than 30 offices on high streets across London, we are perfectly placed to collect people’s unwanted coats. This year we will be collecting at all of our London branches and are aiming to beat last year’s record of 2,000 coats by 50%.”
Frances Manthos, founder of the Calling London Coat Drive, adds: “We are very excited to be collaborating with Chestertons once again this year, and their support will mean that this November the public can donate their unwanted winter coats at any of the Chestertons branches, right across London. In this way Calling London will be able to help even more of those people in our city to keep warm during the cold months ahead.”
