Land Registry reveal further slowing in annual house price growth in London, although at 16.3% in the year to December, average price growth remains frothy. Waltham Forest (+25.1%) is now the borough with the strongest growth, followed by Newham (+24.2%) and Southwark (+23.8%). The central boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea (+11.5%) and Westminster (+14.2%) are respectively, the slowest and third slowest in terms of annual price growth.

NB comment: average achieved prices in London continue to slow but the imbalance between supply and demand is sustaining growth at more than twice the national average. The prime segment meanwhile is experiencing further price slippage in some locations, due to a combination of concern about tax issues, the General Election outcome and pricing.
