Chestertons has strengthened its estates management department with two key appointments, adding Janet Cummings and Chris March to lead a reconfigured team.
Janet Cummings is appointed Head of Operations, bringing with her more than 25 years’ experience in the sector. During her career she has held a number of key operational roles with ultimate responsibility for managing extensive property portfolios. She also has considerable expertise in integrating property management businesses, change management, and systems implementation. Most recently she worked with large freeholders specialising in the technical aspects of managing large property portfolios, including dispute resolution. Janet will concentrate on the day-to-day running of the estates management department, based in the Chestertons Islington office.
Commenting on her appointment, Janet says: “I am looking forward to using my expertise to develop and enhance the operational and customer-tailored services of Chestertons’ Estate Management division. I am very appreciative of the challenges and opportunities this role presents.”
Janet is joined by Chris March who will head up the Chestertons estate management business. Having been named as one of the top 100 most influential people in the residential leasehold sector by News on the Block magazine, Chris sold his own business to Countrywide and then spent a decade helping grow the leasehold business into one of the UKs leading managing agents, before joining a highly regarded private practice as property director, where he was responsible for a national portfolio of institutionally owned properties. He joins Chestertons from Braemar Estates, an agency specialised in managing large iconic residential buildings, where he was CEO.
Having an established track record of working with developers on the management of new-build residential and mixed-use schemes and considerable expertise in managing large-scale residential portfolios, Chris will be focused on expanding Chestertons’ bespoke management service for developers, and will also provide consultancy advice on ground rent transactions.
Chris comments: “Chestertons is a great brand with a long-established name and an impressive client list. Both Janet and myself hope to maintain the high-standards of service provision the company already delivers, as well as introducing the business to new clients seeking excellence and professionalism in their property management provider.”
Robert Bartlett, Chief Executive of Chestertons, adds: “It’s a pleasure to welcome both Janet and Chris on board; I have no doubt that with their combined decades’ of estates and block management experience, they will be able to develop and grow our already strong offer in new directions while enhancing the first-rate levels of expertise and customer service our clients demand.”
