Our agents in Islington are specialists in providing property advice for sales and lettings in both Islington and Hackney. The team in Islington pride themselves on their in depth knowledge of the local area and take great pride in the community – partnering with William Tyndale School, London Calling coat collection and St Mungo's.

The most sought after properties for sale in Islington tend to be Georgian and Victorian houses with 3 or more rooms. Victorian period terraced houses are popular with families, whilst well proportioned post-war flats are popular with young professionals.

Client  ( Vendor )

Good, solid, professional service.

Mr Dodds  ( Vendor )

Both with the selling of my flat and with the buying of a new one (advice only) Chestertons excels. Special mention for Guy Morgan and Dean Tomlinson - both very fair individuals and take a long term approach.

Parks & Recreation

Compared to other areas, Islington is lacking in green spaces and instead has a number of small community gardens dotted around. For something a bit different, the New River Walk Park has a historic stretch of water; a man made aqueduct dating from 1613, and a beautiful selection of trees.

Restaurants & Shopping

Islington has an increasing range of independent restaurants taking their inspiration from across the world. The variety of shops in the area is steadily growing, with a mixture of high street and independent boutique brands opening in the area.

Best place for something warm and fuzzy:

Workshop is an Italian clothes shop. Its menswear collection is now produced in London however they still operate a factory in Turin. They have a wide collection of quality cashmere products as well as a stylish women’s range.

Islington offers an eclectic array of independent shops, trendy bars, restaurants, pubs, cinema’s, cultural venues and a host of places to visit for great vibes whether during the day or at night.
A truly magnificent place to live, work and socialise for the young, old and everyone in between.

Entertainment & Nightlife

Islington has a thriving social scene. In addition to the many pubs and bars in the area, there are top comedy venues and a vintage cinema to keep residents entertained.

Best place for a cocktail:

Zilouf Bar and restaurant comes highly recommended for its sublime cocktail collection. Its owners previously worked for the distinguished Ottolenghi NOPI restaurant and their expertise shines through in their drinks.

Schools & Education

There are a number of state schools in the area. Primary schools include St Mary’s and Thornhill primary schools. There are also a number of same-sex secondary schools. For boys there’s a choice of St Aloysius RC School for Boys or the Central Foundation School. For girls, there’s the Elizabeth Garret Anderson School for Girls.

There’s a number of underground, mainline and over ground stations providing excellent service to Islington’s residents.

Stations include:

  • Angel – Northern line
  • Caledonian Road – London Overground
  • Highbury & Islington – London Overground and Victoria Line
  • Old Street –Northern Line and National Rail services to Hertfordshire.
