Chestertons Wandsworth

11 Huguenot Place, Wandsworth London SW18 2EN

With an eclectic mix of suburban and commercial, Wandsworth is a varied area where both green spaces and high street shops are always nearby.

Victorian houses and flats can be found on East Hill, just south of the High Street and close to good schools and Wandsworth Common. The Tonsleys attracts young families as it includes small terraced Victorian houses and flats along Tonsley Hill, Tonsley Place and Alma Road.

There are new developments of modern flats in the Riverside Area, including Riverside Quarter and Battersea Reach. Development has recently completed on the Old Young’s Brewery, now the home of the Ram Quarter development offering modern new homes as well as an array of shops, catering and public amenity spaces.

With two beautiful commons and riverside areas, Wandsworth is a wonderful place to live.

Parks & Recreation

There are two beautiful commons in Wandsworth: Wandsworth Common and Tooting Common. Wandsworth Common is a local favourite, hosting ecological and ornamental areas, sports pitches, tennis and bowling, plus a play area and trim trail for children. There is also a lake where members can fish during fishing season.

Best place to get in touch with nature:

Tooting Common is the largest green area in Wandsworth and boasts an impressive selection of facilities, including an athletics track, activity centre, sports pitches, wildlife areas and youth clubs. It is a site of metropolitan importance and nature conservation with extensive areas of woodland and two ponds.

Restaurants & Shopping

Wandsworth boasts a variety of places for shopping and dining, with the town centre currently undergoing regeneration and the Southside shopping centre recently being redone. Old York Road is particularly notable for its selection of excellent and popular restaurants, boasting a variety of authentic cuisines from all over the world. Doukan, a classic Moroccan restaurant with a peaceful atmosphere during the day, was even shortlisted as a finalist in the world food category for Gordon Ramsay’s programme.

Best place for an elegant meal:

The Michelin starred Chez Bruce is near Wandsworth Common and provides beautifully cooked food made with exquisite ingredients.
