The top 50 places to live in the UK are again dominated by the South East with over half (26).

Nick Barnes, Head of Research

The district of Hart in north east Hampshire tops the 2014 Halifax Quality of Life Survey for the most desirable place to live – for a record fourth year in succession. On the flip side, the cost of living in Hart is much higher than in many other parts of the UK – with an average house price that is 7.4 times the average annual pre-tax local income, compared to a national average of 6.2.

The top 50 places to live in the UK are again dominated by the South East with over half (26) found in this region, followed by East of England which claims eleven of the top 50 spots.
