After graduating from University in the USA, Robert worked for a number of financial institutions in both Corporate Finance and Investment Brokerage. He returned to the UK in 1990, representing Great Britain at the Barcelona Olympics (Rowing), before joining Cluttons, Bath, as a Land Agent in 1993. Robert became a Partner in 1998 and was responsible for the management of the Church Commissioners rural estates in the South West as well as a number of other institutional and private clients, including the Crown Estate and Duchy of Cornwall.
In 2003, Robert moved to Cluttons’ Head office in London as a member of the Management Board. As Head of Residential, responsible for London, Country and International offices, he led the firm to its most successful year ever in 2005.
Robert joined Chestertons in 2006, and has led the growth of the business from eleven estate agency offices within Central London to a multi-disciplined property business with over 65 offices across five continents. Robert sits as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of REAP Ltd, publisher of Fabric magazine and Springtide Capital Ltd, an independent mortgage brokerage business. He is a founder and current director of Agents Mutual, the new agents’ portal site, trading as “Onthemarket.com”. He is a regular commentator in the national and international media on the global property markets.
Allan Collins (BA, ACA, CIOT) – CFO
Allan read economics at Leeds University then qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986 with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, he was admitted to membership of the Chartered Institute of Tax in 1987. In the ten years he was with PwC he spent time in the Tax and Advisory divisions where he became a Senior Manager gaining experience, in particular, in mergers and acquisitions.
In 1993 Allan joined the P&O Group, where he was a Finance Director within the shipping division. At P&O he was responsible for cost reduction strategies in order to help the Group become more efficient in a highly competitive environment.
Allan joined Savills in 1998 as Head of Finance, becoming Finance Director in May 2000. Over the 14 years of his tenure the business grew from a turnover of £40m to over £200m. The number of offices increased from 35 to 80. In 2000 he was instrumental in raising funds to spin off and “list” Savills’ in-house marketing team onto the AIM market.
Allan joined Chestertons as Chief Financial Officer in May 2012 to help with the expansion and growth of the business both nationally and internationally. He is responsible for financial control, IT, HR, acquisitions, business efficiency, strategy and expansion.
Richard Davies – Head of Residential Lettings
Richard graduated from university having studied Civil Engineering and after spending a year as part of a team building a coastal onshore oil terminal, he then became an estate agent in London.
After gaining a year’s experience with Woolwich Property Services, Richard was approached to work for Chestertons who, at that time, were part of the same group of companies.
Richard’s property experience covers both sales and lettings and from 1998 to 2005 he successfully ran a number of the Chesterton offices including Wimbledon, Pimlico, Chelsea, Docklands and Tower Bridge. Working his way up through the business from the rank of a negotiator to office manager and then into an Area Director role until today, he has held the post of Head of Residential since 2011. Richard has played an instrumental role driving the residential business from originally 12 offices to the multi-disciplined international property business that represents Chestertons of today.
Although there have been many significant changes in the business through his nearing 20 years of employment, the ethos of delivering a high level of service and developing long term client relationships continues to thrive.

With over ten years experience in prime central London, Guy managed a busy office of hand selected, upbeat, knowledgeable and proactive agents in the Chelsea and South Kensington area. Having closed deals at the very top and bottom of the market (from £300,000 to over £60m) Guy has the market knowledge to help correctly advise you on selling your property no matter how big or small.
Today Guy is the Head of Residential Sales, supporting and leading the sales teams in the company.
