Welcome to Coombe

One major attraction of buying in Coombe is the opportunity to choose from an array of large, beautiful homes whilst maintaining the transport links and lifestyle of being in London.  Living in Coombe provides all the benefits of London life but with open green areas, secluded spaces and the type of properties more often found further out of the capital.  There are also luxury gated developments such as Coombe Park, which provide top security.  Coombe has a history of attracting affluent residents: TV personality Jimmy Tarbuck, tennis player Annabel Croft and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood have all lived in the area.
  • Affluent area
  • Chic shopping and dining opportunities
  • History of well-known residents
  • Relaxing atmosphere
  • Open green spaces
  • Near to wimbledon
  • Entertainment & nightlife

There are a number of evening entertainments to help you unwind.  The beautiful Rose Theatre hosts a variety of shows and provides a relaxing atmosphere to meet friends.

For a late meal or drink, the Albert Pub & Dining offers a good selection of food: situated in a beautiful Victorian building, it has a cosy atmosphere and regular group events.

  • Parks & recreation

Coombe is surrounded by open green areas such as Richmond Park, the Coombe Park Golf Course and Wimbledon Common.

Throughout the year, Coombe is tranquil and a perfect place to relax; this only changes during the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, when all eyes are on the nearby area.  For Wimbledon and tennis fans, there is a Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum and Tour to give you further information.

  • Restaurants & shopping

Coombe is close to a mix of great shops: the nearby high street in Kingston, has an array of high street and department stores for regular shopping.  For something slightly different, head to Wimbledon village where you will find chic shops, cafes and bars.

There are a selection of great restaurants in and around Coombe, such as the JinJin Chinese restaurant in Kingston: well-loved for its authentic Chinese food.

Best place for cake – and a bit more

Within the Rose Theatre is the Swallow Bakery, offering breakfast and lunch menus as well as a selection of stunning cakes.  There are often free events being run in the spacious bakery such as baby and toddler groups, regular live acoustic sessions and jazz performances on the first Tuesday of every month.

  • Schools

Coombe Hill and Fern Hill Primary Schools have both achieved ‘outstanding’ Ofsted ratings, as has Coombe Girls Secondary School.

Tiffin Girls School and Tiffin Boys School offer Grammar School education and there are also a number of successful independent schools including Rokeby Prep, Surbiton High and Wimbledon High.

  • Transport & travel

The nearest overground stations are Kingston and Norbiton, which provide routes into London via Clapham Junction and lines to Richmond and Surrey.  Waterloo Station, the West End and other destinations on the District Line are accessible via Wimbledon Station.  There are also nearby tube stations.
