Vauxhall is known for its busy hub of bars and nightclubs and is conveniently located in central London for nights out. For more relaxing entertainment, there is the Tea House Theatre: serving quality food and drink in a peaceful atmosphere during the day and hosting art events including poetry readings, live music and theatre shows in the evening.
There are a number of new green spaces included in the Nine Elms transformation plans, in addition to the parks already nearby. The iconic Kia Oval Cricket Ground is based in the area and Vauxhall Park is a wonderful green space that has received the Green Flag Award every year for the past 6 years.
As well as two large supermarkets and a few restaurants, Vauxhall has a number of excellent delis dotted throughout the area. There are also good gastropubs, such as Canton Arms, which is an upscale establishment with a daily changing menu.
Vauxhall is well served by buses, with a large bus station which won the Pulitzer Price for its architecture. Vauxhall mainline station provides South West services out of London as well as riverboat transport.
