My line of work requires me to be up to date with all the latest trends and fashions so for anyone who is struggling to choose what to wear for this year’s Chestertons Polo in the Park, I am here to help.
I had such a wonderful time at last year’s event and I am certain this year will not disappoint. The event is full of life and healthy competitiveness…not to mention some knockout outfits! It is a chance for everyone to get dressed up and enjoy a day of sport and sunshine.
Last year, I was unsure what to wear as it was my first time at the event and I initially regretted not having my tweed jacket with me in London but, with after a visit to La Martina in St James (also sponsoring this event) I was fully kitted out for a great weekend…without a trace of tweed in sight!
This year I am attending Ladies Day on the Saturday, think races but without the over the top fascinators! This is a great opportunity to wear that new pretty summer dress you’ve been dying to wear or one of your classic staple summer dresses that is always guaranteed to make you look and feel good. Think beautiful florals with flowing fabrics or figure hugging styles in pretty pastel shades. Remember less is more and classy over sassy is definitely the trend for the polo.
This year I’ve decided to wear a white crotchet embroidered dress teamed with a leather belt, matching bag and floral print scarf from La Martina.
If your dress is a busy design pair it up with a simple pair of heels or your favourite summer wedges and if your dress is a block colour why not pair it up with some colour popping heels?
Now, moving on to my favourite part… handbags!
It is always a good idea to co-ordinate your shoes and handbag as I feel it really completes an outfit. Why not treat yourself to a new bag for the event from ‘La Martina’? Their handbags are my favourite, incorporating stunning designs with beautiful leather and gorgeous colours which add style to any outfit…I’ve got mine ready!
It is definitely advisable to bring a pair of sunglasses with you for the day, I personally love oversized classic looking style as they add sophistication to any outfit as well as protecting your eyes from the sun’s rays of course!
Scarves are always a useful addition to any outfit as they can add a pop of colour or tie into any outfit as well as keeping you warm if the sun decides to hide! Last year I wore a silk scarf as a headband to brighten up my look.
Here is my outfit from Ladies Day last year:
The Friday and Sunday at Chestertons Polo in the Park are slightly less formal in terms of fashion but still a chance to get glammed up if you want to! If you’re not a fan of wearing heels feel free to go smart casual in flats a why not team up a dress with a casual jacket? Last year I wore these brogues with a denim playsuit teamed up with a classic summer trench coat and on the final day a suede dress paired up with a smart denim shirt.
