Founded over 200 years ago, Chestertons is never afraid to take a long-term view on things. This means that as well as creating lasting, trustdriven relationships with our clients, partners, staff and suppliers, we promote activities and initiatives that will have long-term benefits for the communities in which we work.
Through support for our nominated charity partner, St Mungos, as well as numerous other clubs, charities, groups and institutions, our company and staff are focused on making a difference and having real impact - whether that’s through fundraising, volunteering or raising awareness.
Such activities are outside the course of our normal business but a source of great pride and enjoyment to Chestertons' staff – with our efforts recognised through various awards – and our hope is that, by sharing our work, we can inspire and encourage others to follow our lead
and all do that little bit more for the greater good.
Our nominated charity: St Mungo's
Chestertons has been proudly supporting the charity St Mungo’s since our staff elected it as our official ‘nominated charity’ in 2015. St Mungo’s mission is to end homelessness and rebuild lives.
They work to achieve this by running 250 projects and providing a bed and support to more than 2,600 people at night, who are either homeless or at risk.
Since 2015 our staff have raised over £50,000 for St Mungo’s by organising and taking part in a wide variety of fundraising events. As well as fundraising to help tackle homelessness, Chestertons is dedicated to raising awareness of St Mungo’s, its cause and the work that it does.
To engage our staff further, we encourage employees to spend an evening shift with the St Mungo’s Outreach Team, walking the streets of London and speaking with people on the streets who are in need of shelter and can benefit from our support. This not only provides St Mungo’s with additional resource, enabling them to reach out to more vulnerable people, but also engages our staff and educates them on the causes and challenges of homelessness.
