Alex started his agency career back in 2005 in Canary Wharf as a negotiator before becoming the lettings manager of a leading agency in Clerkenwell. In 2012, Alex opened an office in the West End and managed both sales teams before coming to Chestertons. His knowledge of the London property market is extensive and he has worked on both sides of the river, from Fitzrovia to Greenwich.
With over 20 years' involvement within the property industry, Katharine has a wealth of experience. Perhaps the most scenic park is Potters Fields Park next to City Hall, providing plenty of green space and iconic riverside views and is home to the Mayor of London’s office.
Southwark Park is a beautiful Victorian Park dating back to 1869. It has large open spaces, a pond and hosts local events throughout the year. Many people enjoy walking or running alongside the river with world famous buildings on both sides of the river providing an exciting and dramatic backdrop.
Restaurants & Shopping
The South Bank, Bermondsey, Rotherhithe, Wapping and London Bridge areas are all home to a broad choice of pubs, bars and fine dining. The oldest pub on the River Thames which is the character filled and historic Mayflower Pub in Rotherhithe dating back to the 1600’s.
The quality of markets, shops and restaurants in the area draws in visitors from across the capital. Borough Market and nearby Maltby Street Market both offer delicious artisanal food. Trendy Bermondsey Street has bustling bars and popular contemporary restaurants next door to independent boutique stores.
There’s also a huge variety of restaurants along the Southbank catering to all tastes. St Katharine Docks is picturesque with Waterfront dining and Shad Thames restaurants have fantastic views of Tower Bridge. For a larger variety of shops, including designer brands, the City’s shopping venue One New Change is within walking distance of London Bridge and the newly redesigned London Bridge is bring many more exciting shops and restaurants to the area.
The department stores of Oxford Street and haute couture brands of Bond Street are also easily accessible by public transport.

There is an ever evolving number of fine dining restaurants coming to the area making it a foodie’s destination.
Entertainment & Nightlife
This area offers so much to its residents and indeed the millions of tourists who visit each year. There are numerous galleries, including the grand Tate Modern on the South Bank and the White Cube on Bermondsey Street, in addition to many music and performance venues. The South Bank, Bermondsey and Waterloo areas are all home to a broad choice of pubs and bars.
Best place for a date
Whether you’re on a first date, a date with your long term love or simply meeting a friend, have a few drinks at one of the many pubs or bars along the Southbank and then stroll along the Thames to admire the sights. Once the sun has gone down and the buildings are lit up, the view along the Thames is spectacular.
Schools & Education
Nearby primary schools are The Cathedral School of St Saviour and St Mary Overy, the Charles Dickens Primary School and the Boutcher C of E School, all are good state schools. Secondary schools include the ARK Globe Academy which has a sixth form attached and St Saviour’s & St Olave’s School for Girls.
Just over the river towards the Square Mile is the City of London School which is an independent, fee paying school with separate branches for boys and girls.
There are excellent links across London and out of London towards Kent and the South Coast.
National Rail Services
National Rail Services, Cannon Street, London Bridge and Blackfriars all have services running south through to Kent and the South Coast.
Fenchurch Street have services to east London and Essex and Waterloo has services running westwards to Berkshire and beyond.
