The Bahamas

Independent since 1973, The Bahamas has over 700 islands and is located in the North Atlantic Ocean. Only 50 miles from Florida, the country’s mature financial services industry, stable government, established infrastructure, tax neutral environment and luxury lifestyle, have made it a centre for international business. Nassau, on New Providence Island is the capital city and the centre for the two main industries of tourism and financial services.

Freeport is the second city on Grand Bahama Island, which main industries include tourism, oil trans-shipment, pharmaceuticals and cement. With so many islands scattered over 100,000 square miles, there is a wide range of real estate possibilities to consider from a retirement home, second home, rental investment or commercial development. If you purchase a property for US$ 500,000, you will automatically qualify to apply for a Bahamas permanent residency. There are direct flights from London, New York, Miami and many other cities.
